This is a great "slice of life" piece. I really like how the narrator is wrestling with the angst of finding meaning in life. He's not only reflecting on his own life, but noticing the people around him too. The way the piece ends is great. It seems that the narrator is realizing that he wants more out of life...but then the log truck reappears. Does he follow through with his dreams of more or go with the flow of just earning money.
