I'm going to be leaving this alone for the rest of the month and working on other things, than picking it back up to add ancillary materials if I actually get the grant to complete it. I had fun researching and writing it though, so even if the project doesn't pan out, it was worth the time.

Feel no need to read the entire post. It is just here for perusal and comment if you want a quick read. So, I think I've settled on a name. Also looking forward to spending the next week of vacation making a plan for all the ancillary materials that need to be written. The first draft of the book is complete with the final Chapters attached. I will be adding Facebook discussions, journal entries, legal documents, meeting notes, historic documents, and video transcripts in the coming year.
Quick summary: Hunter is a 5th grade boy with a stutter. In an effort to gain confidence and friends, he (along with the class turtle) begin looking for the village monster. In these chapters he meets a new friend whose father is a YouTuber. They begin making videos and things quickly get out of hand.

I didnt get a chance to comment on this in group but I just wanted to let you know that I loved this story. It had some great twists and turns that I didn’t expect that kept it interesting. The twist with Carol in the last chapter gave me goosebumps. What’s next for this piece?

I really like the imagery of giant slugs invading village after village. This story has a "boy who cried wolf" (but reversed) vibe. Made some suggestions on the doc.
